How it works
Bathroom door codes for coffee shops, restaurants and stores, shared by the people standing in them.
Find a code
- Search for the business by name while you're there.
- Pick it from the results.
- If someone has shared its code, it's on the keypad, along with when it was last confirmed and by whom.
Where codes come from
From visitors. Someone at the place shares the code, and other people confirm it with "It worked". Nobody at this site calls businesses or makes codes up.
| Green dot | Confirmed in the last 30 days. |
| Amber dot | Not confirmed for over 30 days. It may have changed. |
| No code needed | The bathroom is unlocked. Go in peace. |
| No public bathroom | Save yourself the walk. |
What keeps it honest
| Must be there | You have to be within a mile of a place to add it, change its code or confirm it. |
| Real places only | Places are picked from a map search, never typed in. |
| No self confirming | You can't confirm a code you shared. Only other people can. |
| First in owns it | The first person to share a code for a place is credited for it, even if it changes and later changes back. |
| Once a day | You can confirm a given place once every 24 hours. |
Rewards
| Reach | And get |
| 100 points | A sticker pack, in the mail |
| 250 points | A T-shirt, in the mail |
| 500 points | Your line on the wall of fame |
Rewards don't cost points. Reach the number and it's yours; your points stay put.
Accounts and points
Looking up codes needs no account, and neither does confirming one still works (you show up as "A kind stranger"). Adding or changing a code does. To do that, and to earn points and badges, sign in with your email: you get a 6-digit code each time, and there is no password. How to earn points
Your location and email
Your location is used for the moment it takes to check you're near a place and to sort places by distance. It is never saved. Your email is only used to send sign-in codes and is never shown to anyone.
Be a good guest
These are customer bathrooms. Buy a coffee. And codes change without notice, so if one doesn't work, ask at the counter and update it here for the next person.
